Graphics and Symbols: A Luxury Journey Aboard the Grand Express
Design and Atmosphere
The setting of Grand Express Action Class evokes the golden age of luxury rail travel. The train becomes a true travelling casino, with elegant interiors and details inspired by the aesthetics of the 1920s. The atmosphere combines the charm of international travel with elements typical of casino entertainment.
The graphics feature characters and objects easily associated with the era: a flapper, champagne glasses, casino chips and a roulette wheel appear alongside card symbols. The illuminated frames that appear behind the Wilds also represent a key visual element, as they allow players to follow the progression towards the First Class feature.
During the special features, the interface changes pace. The illuminated positions become the focus during First Class, while the Coins take centre stage during the Express Respins. The result is a presentation that is easy to read, with every visual element helping to communicate the current state of the feature immediately.
Symbols
The symbols combine railway elements with references to the casino world, maintaining a clear hierarchy between regular and special symbols.
-
Card symbols – The classic A, K, Q and J figures make up the lower part of the paytable.
-
Premium symbols – Characters and objects inspired by luxury travel, including the flapper, champagne and casino elements, represent the highest-value symbols.
-
Wild – Replaces other paying symbols to contribute to the formation of winning combinations and, when it lands, illuminates the corresponding position with a frame.
-
Coin – Special symbol used during First Class and the Express Respins. Collecting at least 6 Coins activates the respin feature.
-
Scatter – Represented by a steam train, it can contribute to activating the Free Games and also pays when it appears on the reels.
The combination of Wilds and illuminated frames is particularly important: each Wild can prepare a position for the subsequent First Class feature, creating a direct link between the base game and the special feature.
Sound Effects and Soundtrack
The sound component complements the setting with an atmosphere inspired by the 1920s, helping recreate the feeling of a luxury rail journey. The soundtrack maintains a lively character, while the effects associated with the special features highlight the arrival of Wilds, Coins and jackpots.
During the Express Respins, the audio focus shifts to the search for Coins and the progress towards completing a row. First Class instead uses dedicated cues to highlight the transformation of the framed positions.
