Graphics and Symbols: Día de los Muertos in Giga Match Style
Design and Atmosphere
The setting of Giga Match Sugar Skull draws inspiration from the Mexican tradition of Día de los Muertos. The scene is dominated by decorated skulls, flowers, candles and ornamental patterns, with a rich colour palette contrasting with the darker background.
The 6x5 grid remains at the centre of the experience and makes it easy to follow the formation of clusters. When a combination is completed, the symbols disappear and are replaced by new icons, creating continuous movement across the grid.
The animations become more prominent during the special features. The Match Blitz increases the pace of the experience, while the Free Games mode uses more intense visual effects to highlight multipliers and higher-value combinations.
Symbols
The symbols faithfully follow the game's theme, alternating Mexican decorative elements with special symbols dedicated to the Giga Match mechanics.
- Sugar Skull symbols – Decorated skulls represent the main premium symbols and contribute to the formation of clusters.
- Floral symbols – Flowers and colourful decorations complete the symbol set and can form winning combinations.
- Wild – Replaces regular paying symbols and can contribute to the formation of clusters.
- Scatter – Linked to the activation of the Giga Free Games.
- Multipliers – During the special features, they can increase the value of wins obtained from combinations.
The visual hierarchy is immediate: the Sugar Skulls represent the heart of the theme, while Wilds, Scatters and multipliers introduce the most important mechanical elements.
Sound Effects and Soundtrack
The sound component follows the festive atmosphere of Día de los Muertos, combining a lively musical foundation with more pronounced effects during wins. Cascade combinations are accompanied by progressive cues that increase in intensity when multiple matches occur in succession.
The Match Blitz and Free Games features use dedicated effects to highlight the transition to the special modes and the activation of multipliers, maintaining a rhythm consistent with the colourful and celebratory character of the setting.
